Prof. Aldona J. Spiegel is an Associate Professor at Weil Cornell School of Medicine and the Director of the Center for Breast Restoration, at Houston Methodist Hospital. Her main field of clinical and scientific interest is microsurgical breast reconstruction, specializing in autologous muscle‐preserving perforator flaps. She has performed over 1500 microsurgical reconstructive procedures. Prof. Spiegel also specializes in composite breast reconstruction techniques after nipple sparing mastectomy and direct to implant procedures.

Her passion is developing and improving reconstruction techniques and reestablishing breast sensation. In addition to her academic and professional practice, she is an author, editor and reviewer for multiple publications including The Breast Journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery. She is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Association of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, as well as a consultant for Mentor Worldwide Inc. and the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation.

In addition to her busy practice, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three wonderful children.
