Awardee of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA). Holder of numerous fellowships in Europe, Asia, North and South America: the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy; Breast Unit, Careggi University of Florence, Italy; the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam; Cancer Institute in Tokyo; Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York and Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Examiner of the European Board of Surgery Qualification in Breast Surgery (EBSQBS). Member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Surgical Oncology. Local fundraiser devoted to charitable work for breast cancer Patients.
